Frédéric Keck is a Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Social Anthropology (CNRS-Collège de France-EHESS). After working on the history of social anthropology and contemporary biopolitical questions raised by avian influenza, he was the head of the research department of the musée du quai Branly between 2014 and 2018. He published Avian Reservoirs. Virus Hunters and Birdwatchers in Chinese Sentinel Posts (Duke University Press, 2020) and (with A. Kelly and C. Lynteris) Anthropology of Epidemics (Routledge, 2019).
柯富德是法国国家科学研究中心社会人类学中心的高级研究员。在完成对禽流感相关的社会人类学史和当代生命政治的问题的研究之后，他曾在2014-2018年任凯布郎利博物馆研究部的主任。他出版了Avian Reservoirs. Virus Hunters and Birdwatchers in Chinese Sentinel Posts (Duke University Press, 2020，中译本为《病毒博物馆》，华东师大出版社2021年出版)一书，并与A. Kelly、C. Lynteris主编了Anthropology of Epidemics (Routledge, 2019)。
演讲内容简介
As global health authorities were preparing for an influenza pandemic since the 1970’s, techniques of preparedness have been applied to the surveillance of the reservoirs of influenza in the bird population, such as sentinel devices, simulations by worst-case scenarios and stockpiling vaccines. I will show how these techniques have been transferred to the surveillance of coronaviruses circulating among bats after the SARS crisis in 2003, raising questions on relations between humans and animals and the imagination of the future in China.
从20世纪的70年代开始，全球的官方卫健机构就在为流感的全球大流行做准备，预防的技术被应用于鸟类所携带的流感病毒的监控，比如示警机制，最糟糕情况的模拟和囤积疫苗。我将会展示这些技术如何在2003年的非典型肺炎危机之后转而应用于监控冠状病毒在蝙蝠中的传播，并追问人、动物和中国关于未来的想象之间的关系。
