克里斯多夫·毛赫于1990获得蒂宾根大学博士学位，于1998年在科隆大学取得教授职位。现为慕尼黑大学卡森环境与社会研究中心主任及慕尼黑大学美国史研究主席。曾任华盛顿德国史研究所主任及欧洲社会环境史研究主任。在美国史、德国史及文学研究领域，围绕跨大西洋关系和全球环境史，编辑、出版40余本著作。

Christof Mauch received his Dr.phil. in Literature from Tübingen University (1990) and his Dr.phil.habil. degree from Cologne University (1998). He is the Director of the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society at LMU Munich and Professor and Chair in American History at LMU. Mauch is a former Director of the German Historical Institute in Washington, D.C. and  Past President of the European Society for Environmental History. Christof Mauch has edited and published over 40 books in the field of American and German History and Literature, transatlantic relations and international environmental history.
