International Conference on “Translation and China in the Twentieth Century” Held at Renmin University of China
发布:2026-03-10 来源:On October 12-13, 2024, the International Conference on “Translation and China in the Twentieth Century” was held in Conference Room 1 of Yifu Hall, Renmin University of China.
The symposium was organized by the Institute of Qing History of Renmin University of China and attended by 46 scholars from more than ten universities and colleges at home and abroad, including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Wuhan University, Sun Yat-sen University, the University of Warwick, Kyoto University, and Seijo University.
The conference started with a keynote speech made by Prof. Huang Xingtao and was followed by eight panels. It aimed to elucidate the historical role of translation in the complex process of the ideological flow between China and other countries through academic interaction and to capture the process by which ideology and knowledge flow between China and other countries, facilitating mutual understanding, in the twentieth century.
